Wish You Were Here Movie (2025 film) Summary

The movie centres on Charlotte, a woman who is looking for love and has a wild night of romance with a man she meets. She learns the following morning that he has a fatal illness and pledges to assist him in making the most of his remaining days. “Wish You Were Here” begins similarly to many contemporary fairy tales. Charlotte (Isabelle Fuhrman) works at a restaurant where she is required to wear a ridiculous uniform and her hair is usually smelling of grease. She also has a nasty employer. She feels lost and lives with Helen (Gabby Kono-Abdy), her coworker and best friend. Her parents, Jennifer Grey and Kelsey Grammer, are not happy about the depressing state of her dating life.

After some coaxing, Charlotte goes out for a drink with Adam (Mena Massoud), a stranger she encounters one night. She discovers that he is an artist and enjoys his carefree outlook on life. He frequently says things like “Life’s short,” “Don’t think so hard,” and “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” She finds herself pulled to him as the evening goes on, but by the following day, his demeanor has altered, and she never hears from him again. She eventually begins dating Jimmie Fails, another charming guy she met on the app. However, it turns out that Adam had a secret that would change her life’s trajectory.
