One Of Them Days Movie Summary & Outline & Storyline

Alyssa, a budding artist, and her partner Keshawn reside in a dilapidated flat block with a strict landlord beside waitress Dreux Jones. Even though Dreux and Alyssa believed they had already paid the $1500 rent, their landlord demanded it on the first of the month and threatened to evict them if they didn’t pay by 6 PM. Following a period of confusion, the girls conclude that Keshawn must have stolen the money and fled with it when they were unable to locate him. They find him at Berniece’s house, where Keshawn has been having an affair. Following a dispute in which Keshawn discloses that he invested the funds in his T-shirt business, Berniece is pushed down by a truck door and swears retaliation.

Now without money and a car, Dreux and Alyssa visit a bank for a loan but are turned down because of their poor credit scores. After that, they end up at a blood donation facility. Dreux tries to donate as much blood as she can to get the maximum money, but she becomes woozy while doing so. When Alyssa finds out, she fights with the novice nurse, and they lose all the blood that was donated. After losing, they head to the nearby fast-food restaurant and bump into Maniac, the man Dreux had been teasing. With a plan on how to obtain the money, Alyssa leaves the two alone once they have finished dining. Alyssa is atop a power pole attempting to remove the pair of Air Jordans that were left there when Dreux and Maniac are called to assist her. She manages to get them back, but the cables electrocute her. They can sell the Jordans for $1500, and Dreux arrives on time for her franchise manager interview.

Alyssa has been waiting for Dreux, while Berniece and Keshawn have been attempting to find the girls during this whole ordeal. Even though Dreux had a fantastic interview, her potential employers don’t seem to be considering her for the position because of the subsequent altercation between the three females, in which Berniece beats them both and takes the $1500. The vicious criminal King Lolo, to whom the Jordans belonged, calls Alyssa and Dreux as they are arguing over their situation. He is upset that they sold his sneakers and threatens to kill them unless they give him $5,000 by 10 PM.
When the girls return to their building, they find that their landlord has evicted them and that everything they own has been tossed to the curb. Bethany, their lively new neighbor, offers to purchase one of Alyssa’s paintings. In an attempt to generate money for King Lolo, they organize and publicize an impromptu art gallery that evening in the apartment complex after noticing her sizable social media following. The event proves to be successful. They make enough money to reimburse him, and Dreux’s interviewer, who is present, tells her that the event impressed her and that she should anticipate receiving a phone offer for the position.

As King Lolo shows up, Alyssa quickly leaves, instructing Dreux to hold him up as she has a scheme to throw him off their trail without giving him their hard-earned cash. Following the gunfire, the girls distract him and run away to shelter in their abandoned flat, where they find Keshawn, who has set candles to entice Alyssa back. A chunk of the ceiling falls on King Lolo’s head, knocking him unconscious as he slams the door behind him as he is about to murder the three. Additionally, the candles are knocked over, setting the flat on fire. Alyssa and Dreux make up when the girls, Keshawn, and an unconscious King Lolo become stranded in a smoke-filled room. One of the firefighters—who turns out to be Maniac—arrives and breaks through the doors to save them. King Lolo is arrested for failing to repay his past-due payments after Alyssa informs the loan bank, while Maniac and Dreux discuss dating. The girls re-establish their connection after Alyssa eventually breaks off contact with Keshawn.
Alyssa is now a well-known painter, and Dreux is now a prosperous franchise manager. In their recently renovated flat, the two reside together.

Syreeta Singleton wrote the screenplay for the 2025 American comedy One of Them Days, which Lawrence Lamont directed. Starring in the movie are Katt Williams, SZA, and Keke Palmer. The story revolves around two friends who have to find a way to pay their rent when one of their boyfriends blows it One of Them Days, which TriStar Pictures and Hoorae Media produced, was released by Sony Pictures Releasing on January 17, 2025, in theatres across the United States and Canada. Critics gave the movie favorable reviews, making it $37 million.

It was revealed in April 2024 that SZA and Keke Palmer had been chosen for the lead parts. It was revealed in July of the same year that a number of other performers, such as Maude Apatow and Lil Rel Howery, had also been cast in the movie. I was left wanting more by this film! In addition to the presence of these extraordinarily gifted and attractive women, I adored the teamwork. I loved every single shot of SZA! It was overblown at times, but considering Issa and Keke’s history with skits, that’s to be expected. Unlike some films when things seem random or leave me feeling quite puzzled, this one had a well-organized plot and made sense. It should be noted that this was undoubtedly intended for an extremely mature audience.
Movies that provide humor, culture, and vitality while eventually becoming classics are what I’d love to see more of.
The soundtrack was spot on and also reflected culture. A very humorous film! Many thanks

The hilarious gem “One of Them Days,” featuring SZA and Keke Palmer, far surpassed my expectations. Less is sometimes more when it comes to brilliant comedy, as demonstrated by the plot’s refreshing simplicity and masterful execution. It wasn’t until recently that I realized how much we needed a film with SZA and Keke Palmer. Their comedic timing is impeccable, and they have amazing chemistry. The supporting cast members contribute a great deal as well, offering extra humor and depth. Not to mention the visual appeal—this film is excellent for everyone in that regard as well. This enjoyable, heartwarming movie serves as a reminder of why comedy needs to have a major resurgence in 2025.

“One of Them Days” is hilariously hilarious! The plot made me laugh aloud from beginning to end. It portrays those tumultuous, realistic moments when everything goes comically wrong to perfection. The dialogue is incisive, clever, and full of humor, and the characters are well-written. When you think the protagonist’s situation can’t get any worse, it does, but most absurdly and amusingly imaginable. It resembles a comedy of errors with a very touching conclusion that brings everything together. This is the story you need in your life if you want to laugh out loud and feel wonderful.

It was entertaining to watch this film! It will make you laugh out loud. The narrative centers on two childhood best friends who are rushing to meet a deadline, which results in a variety of mischievous activities as they attempt to complete the task. Along the way, they taught us the importance of friendship, of course.
Being oneself is what Keke Palmer does best, and she does it effortlessly! And SZA fit the part like a glove! I had a great time watching her on screen. They are a great combination. An upbeat, enjoyable, and amusing comedy—ideal for those who still have a sense of humor!
