Before Ryan goes to Edmonton, Alberta, Danny and Ryan, who have been close friends for a long time, are spending a weekend together. They decide to make a film about cinema, with two friends who make a film.

Harrison Xu and Ivan Leung collaborated on Extremely Unique Dynamic, a film that tests their friendship when long-time friends Ryan (Xu) and Danny (Leung) decide to shoot a last-minute film during Ryan’s final weekend in Los Angeles before he leaves for Toronto.

In the first film’s quarter, Ryan reveals that he wants to make a movie-inside-a-movie-inside-a-movie (I don’t think even Inception gets this far into the maze) in the house. Danny would prefer to have fun and get high, but he helps his friend with his complicated process, and Ryan gets amped, pulling up his director/writer/cameraperson pants to get the movie just right. Ivan Leung, Harrison Shue, and Catherine Dudas are writing and directing the 2024 American meta-comedy Extremely Unique Dynamic, which stars Leung and Shue. It premiered at the Sonoma International Film Festival on March 21, 2024, and was released in theaters on January 10, 2025.
In addition to acting in three different parts, Ivan Leung and Harrison Xu wrote and directed the movie. To make it, their first feature picture, they established the production firm Heroic Impact. The film marks Kathryn Dudas’ third feature film, co-written and co-directed, following her feature debut Juniper in 2022. The film was produced by Leung, Shu, and Noel de Murakami.

Leung and Shu wrote the script in a month and began filming three weeks later. Usually using two cameras, they completed the filming in five days, followed by days of reshoots. They paid for the movie themselves.
